Putting the green in Greenwich

Wildlife
Do you take pride in Greenwich and have an idea that will improve the local environment?

Perhaps there is a piece of waste ground near you that could do with a spruce-up, or maybe there's some other initiative that would cheer up you and your neighbours?

You can get funds for your project by applying for a Greenwich Pride grant. You can apply for a small grant of £50 right up to £1,500 for a larger project.

Other ways to help the environment

Recycling

You can do your bit to help preserve the environment by recycling.

Greenwich offers a doorstep recycling collection service for many areas of the borough and there are also a number of recycling centres.

Have your say on biodiversity

Help us protect the diverse wildlife in our borough. Download our Biodiversity Action Plan and send us your comments. You could even win a hamper.

Walk to school

Local school children have been getting fitter and also putting the environment first by choosing to walk to school.

Some schools operate a Walking Bus to allow pupils to walk to school together, and many have a School Travel Plan that encourage safer walking, cycling and public transport use for journeys to and from school.
