Healthy eating

Fruit and veg Eat more fruit and veg for a healthier life
Eating a balanced diet is crucial for good health and helps protect you against heart disease, strokes and cancer. With rising concerns about the effect our diets are having on our health, it is more important than ever to eat a balanced diet.

Are you eating the right sort of foods?

Here at eight tips for eating well, from the Eat Well website:

  1. Base your meals on starchy foods
  2. Eat lots of fruit and veg
  3. Eat more fish
  4. Cut down on saturated fat and sugar
  5. Try to eat less salt – no more than 6g a day
  6. Get active and try to be a healthy weight
  7. Drink plenty of water
  8. Don’t skip breakfast
Healthy eating doesn’t necessarily mean giving up certain foods and eating only those foods listed above, it's all about balance.
