Let's get physical

Keeping fit and active is essential if you want to live a long and healthy life. The Active for Health project runs a variety of physical activities for people from ethnic minority and refugee communities, also for older adults and disadvantaged groups.

Sessions include:

  • Led group walking
  • Tai Chi
  • Chair-based exercise
  • Swimming
  • Weight management
  • Exercise to music
The sessions take place in accessible and culturally appropriate environments such as community centres, places of worship, sheltered housing, day centres and local parks.

Free training is available for people who want to run activities within their own communities.
