Gay, lesbian and bisexual

 
The Metro Centre in Greenwich offers a comprehensive service to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people, and those questioning their sexuality. The Centre was awarded a prestigious GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Award for its work with Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual (LGB) people in 2007.

The Centre's brand new offices in central Greenwich include:

  • a medical centre
  • private counselling rooms
  • group counselling area
  • meeting and activity room.

Social groups

The Centre offers a place where you can go and meet other gay, lesbian and bisexual people and get help and advice if you need it. Services are available to people of all ages and the Centre holds regular groups for young people and for those aged 50+.

Sexual health

The Metro Centre's Pitstop Clinic can offer testing for:

  • HIV
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis C
  • Syphilis
  • Gonorrhoea
  • Chlamydia.
The clinic has a relaxed and friendly environment - tea, coffee, condoms and lube are available.

Volunteering

If you have some regular spare time and would like to offer your skills, the Metro Centre has volunteering opportunities for you. Area include:

  • centre volunteers - welcoming visitors and answering enquiries
  • sexual health outreach volunteers
  • mental health group workers
  • youth workers
  • volunteer administrators.

Transgender and transsexual

The Metro Centre offers support on issues relating to gender as well as sexuality. You may also find the following resources helpful.
