Do you worry about your home being broken into? There are simple precautions you can take that will reduce the risk of burglary:

  • Fit lockable windows.
  • If you live on the ground floor, fit laminated glass that is harder to break.
  • Never leave windows open when you go out.
  • Never leave a spare key under a doormat or in a flowerpot - thieves know all the obvious places.
  • Fit mortise locks to outside doors.
  • Install strong fencing and gates.
  • Use time switches to turn on lights if you are going to be out late.
  • Fit a burglar alarm.
