Greenwich in Bloom

Show off your gardening skills by taking part in this year’s annual Greenwich in Bloom competition.
Now nearing its twentieth year, the popular competition gives you the opportunity to enter one of four different categories and show what you've done to brighten up your garden and improve the environment.

Competition categories

You can submit your garden, window boxes or hanging baskets for judging under the following categories:

  • Category 1:
    Front gardens with colourful summer plants

  • Category 2:
    Front gardens with best landscape design and creative use of plants

  • Category 3:
    Best back gardens with creative use of colour and plants

  • Category 4:
    Colourful window boxes and hanging baskets.

How do I enter?

The competition is only open to Greenwich borough residents.  To enter you will need to fill in an entry form.

You can also pick up a form from local libraries, community centres and most Council buildings.

Send your completed form to:

Parks and Open Spaces
Shooters Hill Depot (opposite Eaglesfield Road), Shooters Hill
SE18 4LX.

The closing date if Friday 20 June.

Judging 

The first round of judging for the competition will take place on Wednesday 25 June. The second round will be on Wednesday 9 July.

What can I win?

There will be prizes for the first, second and third winning entries of each category. The first prize winners will receive a shield.

Protecting the environment

The Mayor of Greenwich, Councillor Sajid Jawaid, said: "The annual Greenwich in Bloom competition is a great way to encourage residents to take care of their garden and other green spaces in the borough. It also raises awareness about the importance of working together to protect the local environment.

"The competition grows more popular each year and I look forward to seeing the usual selection of great entries this year."
