Recent grant winners

Here's a list of all the projects that received a Greenwich Pride grant in the year 2006-2007. It gives you a good idea of the sort of projects that are likely to be considered for funding.

Dallin Road Rear Land Trust

To clear and maintain a local woodland site which had been colonised by pest species in order to encourage more wildlife into the area. The project involved the planting of bulbs and wildflowers and creating a small wildlife pond and has improved the surroundings for all local residents.

Friends of Horn Park

Work was indertaken to enhance the environment within the park by planting shrubs to fill gaps in the existing planting to provide more habitat for wildlife within the park. The infilling of gaps in the existing planting has improved the visual environment within the park for the general public and will provide habitat for small birds.

Quaggy Development Trust

The Trust's objective was to build a raised bed for a food growing project in the community garden. The project involved older people from an affiliated group and children from a local school. The project served to engage participants in physical activity, united people from different generations and educate the children involved about growing food and the environment.

Woodlands Farm Trust

The grant was used to improve the seating area for visiting organizations and to purchase items for the wildlife garden. These included insect attracting plants, insect and bird boxes, amphibian houses and a bird bath. This improved the garden for wildlife and also provides an educational tool for visitors.
