Losing a loved one in a road traffic accident is a tragic experience. Placing roadside tributes at the site of the accident can often be a way of helping to cope with loss and bereavement.
The Council does not object to the creation of temporary tributes. However, we would request that such tributes do not obstruct the highway and are kept in a neat and tidy condition.
Unfortunately, once tributes have decayed, become unsightly or are felt to be a safety hazard, we have an obligation to remove them.
If you have any questions or would like further information on placing floral tributes, please contact us using the details on the right.
