Garden of Remembrance
Cremated remains can be buried in the Garden of Remembrance, or taken away. If you are unsure what to do at the time of the funeral, we can retain cremated remains for three months.
The Garden of Remembrance
There are special clearly marked areas set aside in the garden where remains can be buried. Locations can be recorded so that future remains can be scattered or buried in the same area.
Remains will be buried by appointment only at the following times:
Monday to Friday, 9am to 12 noon and 1.30pm to 3.30pm
Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 3.00pm
You are welcome to attend if you wish, a staff member will be made available to accompany you.
If you are unsure
If we receive no instructions about how to deal with remains after a cremation, we will write to you giving you notice before we bury the cremated remains in the garden.
Elsewhere
If you choose to take the remains away, they will be made available in a suitable container. You should be sure to receive appropriate permission from any local authority or landowner before you scatter or bury the remains.
