How to buy a grave plot
There are range of options available to those who wish to purchase a grave in Greenwich. We aim to offer choices that give you some individuality.
How to choose and purchase a grave
In all cases, you should contact our
Cemetery Services
to discuss your requirements. They can help you select a grave, and guide you through the purchase process.
Who can buy a grave in Greenwich?
Anyone can purchase a grave in Greenwich, but prices are considerably higher for non-residents. To qualify for resident prices, you must be a resident yourself, or the nearest surviving relative purchasing a grave for someone who was a resident of Greenwich. Details are available on the
resident eligibility page
.
What am I actually buying?
You can't actually buy a grave itself, but rather the right to use it for 50 years. During the 50 years, the grave cannot be used without your written permission. You can renew your ownership for another 50 years at any time. For more details, including how to transfer ownership, see the
grave ownership page
.
Costs
There are different prices depending on whether you are a resident of Greenwich. We have a
summary of fees
available.
