Spray paints

• It is an offence to sell aerosol spray paints to anyone under the age of 16 even if they look older.
• The owner of the premises, as well as the actual seller, may be liable if a sale of spray paint to an underage person is made.
• If you are not sure the customer is over the age of 16, ask for proof of age.
• If no proof of age can be produced, refuse the sale.
• If you suspect that an older person is buying on behalf of someone under 16, refuse the sale.

Remember – you commit an offence if:

• you sell spray paints to anyone under 16.
