Changes to VAT Rate
The VAT rate reverted back to 17.5% on 1 January 2010.
The standard rate of VAT was reduced to 15% on 1 December 2008 until 31 December 2009.
This meant that any sales of standard-rated goods or services that took place on or after 1 December 2008 should have been charged VAT at the rate of 15%.
