FAQ
I want a licence to sell alcohol – do I speak to the Council?
Yes.
The Council is responsible for licensing premises that sell and supply alcohol, provide entertainment or provide refreshments after 11pm at night.
You no longer need to apply to the Magistrate's Court.
Councils are also responsible for administering a new system of Personal Licences.
See our
Alcohol, entertainment and late night refreshment licence
section.
