How to apply for registration
Before applying for registration
Consider whether your premises may need planning approval. This may be the case if regular use of the premises for weddings would constitute development. Call our
Planning Department
for advice – 020 8854 8888.
How do I actually apply?
Download all the following documents. Check the explanatory notes and standard conditions carefully, then complete the application form and return it to us with the application fee. You will also need to place a notice of your application in a local newspaper, and provide us with details.

What happens when I apply?
Before granting a licence, Council officers will inspect the venue to ensure that it meets the requirements above, and that there are no health and safety concerns. They will look for things like adequate emergency escapes, fire fighting equipment, and so on.
How long does a licence last?
If granted, a licence usually lasts for three years.
