How to apply

It's a straightforward process - send us the completed form and if we are satisfied that the child will be in safe hands and won't miss too much school (or has alternative arrangements), we will grant the licence.

1. Contact the child's school

If the child is going to miss any school, you need to clear it with the Head. We need a letter from the school saying they are happy for their pupil to do the performance and take the time off.

If the child is going to miss a lot of school, you may need to arrange for a tutor to accompany them.

2. Download  and complete the form

The application for a  stage licence must be made by the person responsible for the production - whether tv, film, theatre. modelling or sport.

There is also a section that needs to be filled in by the parent.

If you would like the form to be send to you by post, call, write or email your request using the details on the right.

3. Send us the form

Don't forget to include the following:

  • two photographs of child taken in last six months
  • birth certificate
  • school letter
  • copy of the contract
  • a medical certificate of good health.
Try and submit the application at least 21 days before the performance.

How long does it take?

We will assess the application, and then, if satisfied, we will grant the licence. This usually takes about 21 days.

However, if you urgently need one quicker than that, get in touch. We are part of the London Child Employment Protocol Network which means we can turn a licence around in seven days.
