Building related licences
The Council’s highways team handles building-related licences.
If you want to place
building materials
on any part of a public road or street, you need to get a licence from us to do so.
Putting up building site
hoardings or scaffolding
on public roads or pavements is also controlled. This is done to make sure that safety measures are in place.
Skips
on the roadside are similarly controlled, but you cannot get the licence yourself - the request has to come from a skip hire company.
Please see the links on your left.
