Food hygiene inspections
The Environmental Health team inspects food premises throughout the borough on a regular basis in order to:
establish whether food is being handled and produced hygienically
establish whether food is safe to eat
identify specific contraventions of food hygiene regulations.
In this section you can find out what happens during a food hygiene inspection, what happens afterwards, and how to appeal if you wish to contest the results.
After the inspection we add the results to our food hygiene database. For further information see the
Food Hygiene Awards
webpage.
