Why we carry out inspections

 
The Environmental Health team inspects food premises throughout the borough on a regular basis in order to:
  • establish whether food is being handled and produced hygienically
  • establish whether food is safe to eat
  • identify specific contraventions of food hygiene regulations.
In this section you can find out what happens during a food hygiene inspection, what happens afterwards, and how to appeal if you wish to contest the results.
