Filming in Greenwich

Film Unit coloured stripe

Hugh Grant reclining in an office chair The Film Unit regulates filming, where possible, to ensure that production companies are guided by the film makers' code of practice, which sets the standards of behaviour required by all boroughs, the police and the Association of Local Government (ALG).

Managing the process in this way enables the Film Unit to minimise any potential disruption.

Economic benefits

Filming as an industry is of great economic benefit to the local and national economy. Local businesses can directly benefit from purchases made by the cast and crew of visiting production companies. Filming also helps to raise the profile of the borough and provides an added attraction for the tourist industry in Greenwich.
