What do I need to do in order to film in Greenwich borough?

Send an email with a brief outline of your proposals to filmofficer@greenwich.gov.uk and a Film Officer will advise you accordingly.




How much notice do I need to give?

We would like early warning of your visit. However, we also recognise that it is not always possible.

We are accustomed to having to work to short notice and with tight deadlines and, workload permitting, we will always endeavour to help you.




Do I need a filming licence?

A Film Officer will be able to advise you if a licence is required once you email an outline of your proposals to filmofficer@greenwich.gov.uk.




How much will it cost me to film in Greenwich borough?

Filming charges are very much dependent on the budget of the production company and the type of shoot taking place. All fees are therefore negotiable.

How much time will it take to assess my request?

This will depend on the nature of your request and the workload of the Film Unit.

We always aim to assess requests within two working days.




How do I arrange to film in Greenwich Park, National Maritime Museum and the Old Royal Naval College?

Filming at the above locations is independently managed.

How do I organise parking suspensions?

The Film Unit will liaise with Parking and Highway Services on your behalf.

Do I need to inform the police about my filming?

It is always advisable to inform police of any filming taking place. The police contact for Greenwich borough is Sergeant Andrew Brett.
