How we can help
Report a fraud
We want to make sure benefits go to the people who need them, so if you think anyone is abusing the system by claiming benefits they aren't entitled to, please let us know.
Our anti-fraud team has successfully prosecuted a number of fraudulent cases and is investigating many more.
The Corporate Anti-Fraud Team (CAFT) works with other teams in the Council, such as Advice and Benefits, Council Tax, Student Awards and Neighbourhood Services, as well as the Metropolitan Police and other enforcement agencies.
How to report a fraud
To report a potential fraud, contact the 'blow the whistle' hotline on 0800 169 6975 or email us (see the box on the right). All reports are treated in the strictest of confidence.
You can also report benefit theft to the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
Go to the DWP website
