Primary and secondary grants - 5 to 16 year olds
Clothing grants
The council offers clothing grants to low income families who live in the borough of Greenwich and are in receipt of one of the following benefits:
Income Support
Jobseeker's Allowance (income related)
Child Tax Credit at a rate higher than the basic family and baby elements
Widowed Mothers Allowance (where this is the only source of income)
Incapacity Benefit (where this is the only source of income)
state retirement pension (where this is the only source of income)
What help does the council give for school clothing?
There are four grants available that are paid when children reach certain ages. These are:
at reception year (age 4.5 to 5 years) - value £40
year 3 (age 8 years) - value £40
year 7 (age 11 / secondary transfer) - value £100
year 9 (age 14) - value £70.
