Primary and Secondary Grants - 5-16 year olds
Eleven years can be a long time to support your child at school. But a variety of grants and funding are available.
If you are receiving state benefit whilst your child is at school, you could be eligible for free school meals and financial help towards your child's clothing and meal costs.
To find out more about the different types of assistance on offer and how to apply, click on the links to the left.
Under 16s travel free on buses
Don't forget, all under 16s can travel free on London buses and trams, with the appropriate Oyster photocard.
This photocard also allows them to travel on tube, DLR and overground services at a child rate.
Application forms are available at all Post Offices in Greater London. Alternatively, you can ring the Oyster helpline on 0845 330 9876 to request a form.
More information about Under-16 free travel, can be found on the Transport for London website
.
Children with special needs
If your child has severe special needs, they may be able to catch the free school bus - see
