Job Grant
You could get a Job Grant if you stop getting certain benefits (see below) because you start working for 16 or more hours a week (or your partner starts working for 24 or more hours a week).
Job Grants are paid at two rates:
£100 for single people or childless couples
£250 for lone parents and couples with children.
Who can claim
You must have been getting one of the following benefits continuously for at least six months:
Income Support
Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
Incapacity Benefit
Severe Disablement Allowance.
You must expect the job to last for at least five weeks.
How to claim
You do not have to fill in a claim form - just tell your local
Jobcentre Plus
office about the job within 21 days of starting work.
