Greenwich Starting Blocks Trust

 
Athlete on starting blocksGreenwich Starting Blocks Trust is a charity committed to helping our young people's sporting dreams come true. It will provide bursaries to give young, up-and-coming athletes a chance to develop their talents.

We are inviting an exclusive group of people to become Greenwich Ambassadors to support this exciting venture.

Be a Greenwich Ambassador

For just £300 per year, you can become a Greenwich Ambassador and:

  • support a worthy cause
  • celebrate the sporting achievements of our young athletes
  • follow the progress of the charity’s beneficiaries in the run up to 2012
  • share in the build up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games
  • enjoy two fabulous dining events a year in Greenwich's iconic buildings
  • network with other luminaries from the London business community.
Tickets for individual events cost £150 per person.

Raise money for our local athletes by taking part in the Run to the Beat half marathon.

Supporting young athletes

Since Greenwich Starting Blocks launched, we have been working with sports bodies to identify local talent. We believe there are around 20 young athletes who, with the right encouragement, could make it into the national squad in 2012.

We hope to make an announcement on the first bursaries before the next Greenwich Ambassadors event on 27 July.
