Equestrian

Horse and rider

The only Olympic and Paralympic event that involves animals, equestrian is not just about horse-riding. Competitors are tested in three disciplines: dressage, show jumping and three-day eventing.
The three-day event comprises of dressage, show jumping and a cross-country race.

In the 2004 Athens Games, Britain's Leslie Law, with his horse Shear L' eau, won the gold medal in three-day eventing after Germany was disqualified.
